How you can get peace of mind for a happier life

How you can get peace of mind for a happier life. If you hear your internal voice, it's important that you realize that it's not who you really are, it's you who hears that voice.

This time I will discuss the book The Untethered Soul by Michael A. Singer. This book discusses how you can find peace of mind for a happier life. It will be a moment of self-exploration and a journey to look within.

During this time, maybe we are busy looking outside or listening to the inner dialogue about who we really are. But, is that a complete picture of who we really are? Michael will invite us to find out who we really are and take control of the lives we live.

How you can get peace of mind for a happier life, you can try

I've summarized them into three highlights from the book The Untethered Soul by Michael A. Singer:

First, the inner dialogue is not the real you

Everyone has a voice in their head. This voice never stops and always speaks. Psychologists call this inner dialogue.

However, most people like to misinterpret it, they think the mind is itself, when in fact it is not. If you try to listen to your mind speak, you will realize, if you hear your mind speak it means it's not you. You are the one who hears it and you are the one who realizes that your mind is speaking.

For example, if a person is thinking of committing an evil act, this does not make that person a bad person. Vice versa, if a person thinks of doing good deeds, this does not make that person a good person.

This is the fundamental difference if we are to be able to distinguish between our true selves and thoughts. The main problem in life is not life itself, but the voice in this inner dialogue that ultimately makes life complicated.

For example, we may often feel jealous, then we think that if we are a jealous person, this is a perception we build on ourselves. Though all this of course not true.

What happened? Inner dialogue creates a finite reality so that we don't see the world as it really is, what we do is label and interpret.

When a thought arises in an inner dialogue, we usually describe it with a term. This term comes from an image that we often hear, but that doesn't mean it's the real thing.

For example, when we describe ourselves as hardworking and intelligent, it does not describe the millions of other traits or traits we possess.

Maybe we often hear other people label us as hardworking and diligent people or we label ourselves. This label has the potential to become a confinement for us and even make our self-concept become dishonest.

Inner dialogue is different from consciousness. This is what we really are. Consciousness just observes without labeling anything.

Michael argues that we should not allow inner dialogue to create its own version of reality. Instead, we must open ourselves to seeing the world without giving interpretations. We just observe and see things as they really are.

Second, let the energy within you flow

Have you ever felt a huge energy boost but you couldn't explain what it was? Or rather this logic is difficult to accept, it can be said that you are feeling the power of the mind.

This energy has many names. In yoga it is called shakti. In traditional Chinese medicine it is called chi. Whereas in the western world it is called the soul.

This energy doesn't feel magical or mystical, but it's actually there and waiting for you to unlock it. During this time, without us realizing it, we often close this energy so that it cannot flow smoothly. This disorganization then produces negative thoughts.

Try to imagine like this, you are walking in the mall, then you meet your ex-lover and his new lover. This incident makes you sad and angry, because you still haven't moved on from your ex. This usually happens because you are holding back or closing the inner dialogue.

Michael believes that negative thoughts will come and go, so letting them go is better than trying to hold them back. There is a fundamental difference between holding on and letting go.

Examples of holding back feelings include: I haven't moved on or I need a new lover to show that I've moved on or it may sound like you should take revenge on your ex.

If there's still such inner dialogue, it probably means you're still holding your feelings in and haven't really let go. This is one of the bad habits of our consciousness that likes to focus on negative things. But of course, this is part of evolution.

In the past, focusing on the negative kept us alert so we could defend against predators. But on the other hand, this character makes us very sensitive to fear and anxiety. So what should we do?

Our main goal is not to eliminate fear, because of course this is unrealistic. However, what we can do is be aware of the fear that arises, but do not let this feeling overwhelm you.

Third, Thinking about death

Almost everyone has difficulty understanding the concept of death. Of course death is a scary thing, because we don't really know what will happen next. However, thinking about death will give us meaning in life.

For example, how might you respond if today was your last day alive? This exercise will give us an interesting perspective on life.

For example, you are a jealous person. While at a party, you see your partner is busy chatting with the opposite sex. This incident immediately puts you in a bad mood and jealousy. But, before you dive deeper into your negative thoughts, how about stopping for a moment and looking at it from a different perspective.

Just imagine like this, what happens when you die? Would you like it if you were the only person your partner loves? Wouldn't you like to see your partner happy with someone else when you're not together anymore?

When you contemplate death, you will see what is most important. This exercise makes you realize that the most important thing is to see your partner happy.

Well, if you can have this view, then surely your jealousy will definitely lessen.

Maybe for some, this is quite a strange exercise. But with this practice you become aware of your top priorities. Oftentimes, we lose focus on the things that are most important and instead pursue the things that are less important.

Think about it this way, you're told you only have a week to live. What will you do with your life? How did you spend the last precious week?

This exercise should be done regularly so that you do not spend time doing things that are not a priority in your life. It is a reminder that one day you will surely die and your time in this world is very limited.

It is this awareness that allows you to see life from a different perspective. If you feel that there is something important you must do before you die, don't wait any longer, that's what you should do.

Closing

That's my writing about How you can get peace of mind for a happier life, You are not the voice in your inner dialogue. You are the one who heard the voice. That's why that voice isn't the real you.
