Good Public Speaking Techniques. The following public speaking technique distinguishes why voice A and voice B can have different allures.

Good Public Speaking Techniques You Can Try

When heard A's voice when he had spoken it seemed that Peace had no trouble appearing before the eyes. And when you hear B because his style is good and his words touch the heart.

You may have said, “Hey person A when he talks quietly, but when he appears as a speaker, his voice can be different, many people will not think it's his voice.”

Or, “Hi, person B can speak in a different tone of voice and can imitate other people's voices well, we didn't expect him to be able to do that.” and many more comments.

This proves that words are words and sentences are just sentences because the most important thing is how to convey them. Then how to be able to speak well and be heard by others in the sense of being able to amaze them?

Tips From Julian Treasure

Of the many discussions of sound in public speaking, I finally found a discussion that is systematic, easy to understand and easy to practice from Julian Treasure.

Julian Treasure is a world renowned voice master and speaker. Julian says that to have good speaking skills, you have to pay attention to your voice box or voice equipment box.

The toolbox is: register (voice area), timbre (voice quality), prosody (voice intonation), pitch (voice tone) and volume (voice strength). What's the explanation? Check out my explanation below.

1. Register. The register is the area where your voice resonates, try to distinguish if you speak with your nose, then with your throat, then focus on the sound from your chest, it will make a difference.

Of all these registers, the chest voice is more rounded and authoritative. So focus and practice by getting the sound out of your chest. This is a technique commonly used by world speakers because with a chest voice your vocals will sound authoritative.

2. Timbre. The timbre reflects the quality of the sound you produce, have you ever heard how a lullaby is played instrumentally by strumming the guitar and piano?

Which do you think sounds better? Who uses guitar or piano accompaniment? Of course, the average person would agree that it is better to use the piano, this is what timbre is all about.

The sound quality produced by the musical instrument itself can vary, moreover the sound produced from our vocal cords certainly has its own uniqueness. Some of our voices are thin, some are round, some are soft, some are delicious and some are melodious.

However, you don't have to worry about timbre because with proper breathing, proper posture and exercise, the quality of your voice will be good. I don't think we need to worry about timbre because each of us is unique. Each of us is unique, just control your breath.

3. Prosody. At first it was a bit difficult for me to understand what prosody really is, because it describes emotions and feelings. However, if you are given an example, it will be easy for you to understand.

Example words of "Ouch". How do you say "Ouch!" when you get stabbed by a thorn and how do you say "Ouch!" after you know you left your important stuff at home? Will be different right? Well this is what is meant by how you should pay attention to your prosody.

One word can have different meanings because it is conveyed differently. Try saying "I'm sad" but with emotions of joy overflowing or when your face lights up, "I'm sad" becomes meaningless.

How to make our prosody good? Of course with lots of practice. At least storytelling for small children can be a place for us to practice prosody.

The key is one, the important thing is that we are enthusiastic about what we want to convey to others, then prosody will automatically appear.

4. Pitch. The best way to talk about Pitch is when we watch a sports game. Listen to how the commentator notices what happens on the field when the sports player does his job.

Slowly he would speak, then louder, louder and faster until the sportsman succeeded in his task, and at that point, the commentator would utter his words full of emotion and shout.

Imagine if there was no tone there, it might feel flat without tone control. Therefore, you must also pay attention to the tone when speaking on an occasion and wherever it is.

5. Volume. Lastly is the volume or the power of the voice, the volume of the voice must also be considered because you can speak softly as if in a whisper and you can also speak loudly.

Speak aloud as if full of enthusiasm when saying certain sentences, adjust the volume of your voice to the information you want to convey so that your speech is natural and interesting.

Closing

That's my explanation about Good Public Speaking Techniques and also about register, timbre, prosody, pitch and volume. Pay attention to these five things when speaking to sound good and be able to amaze people.

Finally, in order to speak well, also warm up, which is the act of getting your lips, tongue, and vocal cords ready to speak.

Everything you can do first. The way is up to you, you just do what is important you are happy to do after that then you start speaking in public.
